Have I got a Problem ?

Answer a few of the questions below

1. Do you take time off work because of drinking ?
2. Do you drink to make you feel more confident around people ?

3. Have you ever felt remorse after drinking ?

4. Have you ever had financial difficulties because of drinking ?
5. Have you ever craved a drink the morning after a night of drinking ?
6. Do you drink everyday ?
7. Have you been charged with drink driving ?
8. Do you need a drink to help you sleep ?
9. Have you ever been in trouble at work or lost a job because of drinking ?
10. Do you ever drink alone ?
11. Have you ever discussed your drinking with a doctor either at your GP surgery or in a hospital ?
12. Do your friends or family ever comment about the amount you drink ?

If you answered Yes to 4 or more questions you may need to look at your drinking habits. If you answered Yes to 6 or more questions it would be wise to seek some help with your drinking. If you answered Yes to 8 or more questions then you clearly have a serious problem with alcohol and need some help.

Do not be disheartened if you scored higly, plenty of people reading this page will have answered Yes to all 12 questions. Indeed I myself would have answered Yes to 11 of the 12 questions above in my drinking days.

The above is by no means a precise, scientific test but it does cover some of the common problems that problem drinkers seem to suffer.
