What is Alcohol-Free.org ?
Alcohol-Free is a site aimed at anyone one who thinks they may have a problem with alcohol. The aim of the site is to offer some practical help, advice and guidance to problem drinkers. As well as this we will also offer some real life accounts from alcoholics and problem drinkers. The real aim of the site is to share experiences so that visitors to the site realise that they are not alone with this problem. Alcoholism is a vast, equal opportunities, problem affecting young and old, male and female, black and white, gay and straight people throughout the UK and indeed the world.

The chances are that if you are reading this paragraph you may think you have, or know someone who has, a problem with alcohol. From here on in we will refer to alcoholism not as a bad habit or as an issue for weak willed people, but as a disease. Whether alcoholism is or isnt strictly speaking a disease is not that important for now. It is important to note, however, that alcoholism is very cunning and baffling, and is a disease of denial - that is to say it is the only illness a person can have where their own mind will tell them they dont have it ! The quickest way to test if you may have have a problem is to ask yourself this simple question, Has alcohol ever cost you more than money ? If it has you may have a problem.
